Abstract

We describe a case of isolation of B. quintana from the parotid gland of an apparently healthy man. Pathologic examination showed an intraparotid granulomatous abscessual lymphadenitis. Diagnosis was made on the basis of high titres of IgG and IgM antibodies, and of culture isolation of causative agent from parotid aspirate.
