   Abstract

Caspofungin susceptibility of 28 Candida spp. clinical isolates, including 8 caspofungin-resistant characterized by mutation in Fks1 protein, was determined by Etest® in RPMI and AM3. A good discrimination between wild-type and mutant isolates was obtained. These results suggest that Etest® is valuable for detection of caspofungin resistance in Candida spp.
